Traps and Tracking

Over the last few weeks we have been learning about New Zealand native birds and animals. We learnt about tracking tunnels and what they were for. We put one in the garden by our class and three by our native trees. One of our tracking tunnels got mouse prints and rat prints that's how we know we have predators down by the native trees. So we told Kauri and a few weeks later Kauri came back with one trap and a dead stoat. We have set the trap down by our native trees. Most people holed the stoat but I did not because it was gross. We hope to catch stoats, possums, weasels, rats, mice and hedgehogs.

I really liked the way you were able to explain your learning. Were you trying to get a photo into your blog post - maybe I can help next time I am in class
