ANZAC Tree

1.Philip lived on a big farm with all his animals, his mum, his dad,
Percy and Roy.


2.Percy and Roy planted a tree each before they went to war.


3.Toffy and Phillip hide under the veranda Toffy does not know that Percy
is never coming home.Percy's Tree died.


4.Kenneth's dad went away to fight in the war.
Kenneth likes to sit under his uncle Roy's tree and wait for his dad to come
home.


5.Sophie likes to go up to the pine tree to think about her dad who is
fighting in Korea.


6.Emily watched kevin’s birthday number get pulled out on tv. The letter arrived
saying that he had to fight in the war in Vietnam.  


7.Chris’s cousin Jenny went to Iraq with the navy. He saw his cousin Jenny
in the parade. After the parade they went up to the farm and had a picnic under
the tree that his grampa’s uncle Roy planted.  

8.Jack’s dad went away to Afghanistan with the army reserve he is back
now and it was ANZAC day everyone was going to the farm for a special
fermasand picnic under the tree that his great great grandfather Roy
planted 100 years ago. He stands on top of the hill and imaging
would look like when Roy and Percy planted their trees

  1. Hi Ruby, I can see that you have gathered a lot of facts from this story, ka pai. What do you think it would have looked like when Roy and Percy planted the trees? And why do you think Percy's tree died when he didn't come home? Ma te wa, Miss Hickling.

    I think that it would look like not much trees around and it might
    be a nice calm farm with lots of animals live and nice gusts of wind.
    I think that Percy's tree died because maybe he died in the war.
