A Bee

A bee is a living insect. It is part of the Hymenoptera or the Apidae family. The Hymenoptera family includes sawflies, wasps, bees and ants. The Apidea family are many different winged wasps and bees.

Bees have three basic parts of their body the head, thorax and the abdomen. When a bee stings you their organs come out. To get the stinger to come out use a credit card or use your finger nail and just scrape along the skin. Don't try and pinch or use tweezers to get it out because it will just pump more venom into your blood. The bee will die after a while. Most honey is sweet like manuka honey and their is hard honey like whipped honey. (Top tip the bee is smarter than the average human and bees beat their wings 230 times per second).

Bees live all over the world and in warm places. In the spring and summer bees pollinate flowers and in the winter they stay in the hive because it's so cold outside. The most common place for a bee to live is in a beehive. The normal beehives have frames. The frames have the honeycomb. The honeycombs have the honey. The honeycomb is made out of beeswax.

Bees can be very dangerous if you harm the bee it can sting you this is the bee’s defence mechanism, so you need to be careful. A bee can make a buzzing sound when its flying. Why do bees have black and yellow stripes you may ask? Well the black and yellow stripes is the caution sign so when you are close to a bee and its tail starts shaking that means that you should back away.
